our beliefs

The Bible, both the Old and New Testament, is the inspired, inerrant Word of God. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the authoritative guide for our lives. (Isaiah 40:8; I Timothy 3:16,17)

God is the Creator and Ruler of everyone and everything. He is one God who has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1; I Chronicles 16:23-36; I Peter 1:2)

Jesus is the Son of God. He was equally God and man while on earth. He lived a sinless life and then offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all through his death on a cross. He arose from the grave after three days, demonstrating his power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven and will return again to reign as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. (John 3:16; Philippians 2:5-11; II Corinthians 5:21; I Corinthians 15:3-8; Acts 1:9,10)

Man is created in God's image, capable of intimate fellowship with Him. However, all men and women, by virtue of Adam's sin and their own personal rebellion, are sinners. As such they are separated from fellowship with God and helpless in and of themselves to restore that relationship. (Genesis 1:26; Romans 3:23)

Salvation is a gift from God. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by believing in Jesus as our Savior can we receive forgiveness. We are saved as we place our faith in Him through repentance, confession, and baptism. (Ephesians 2:8,9; John 3:16; Romans 10:9,10; Acts 2:38)
