Although Honduras is a very male oriented society it does not mean that it’s easy to be a man here, especially a Godly man. The extreme poverty and lack of employment opportunities can lead a man to desperation, tempting him to look for “easy” money at the sacrifice of personal integrity. Examples of sexual promiscuity are passed on from generation to generation blinding men to the design that God has set forth in His word of fidelity and responsibility for one’s offspring. Corruption on high in political circles leads to a cynicism by which a man feels justified to follow suit in his own small circle. It is obvious from all that surrounds him daily that the world is broken and apparently without hope.

Iglesia Cristiana Esperanza Viva proclaims that there is indeed hope, not only in eternity but in this life as well. Men meet together monthly in one another’s homes to be encouraged and challenged by the life changing work of the Holy Spirit through the truth of the Scriptures. Part of the transformation being witnessed is men willingly and at times sacrificially serving others who are in need. And now preparations are underway to equip men to be leaders, not only in their homes and workplaces but also in the family of God.
