Building Project

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.           -  Philippians 1:6

What God begins, he finishes.  This is the hope we have in Christ.   God has given a new birth to all who surrender their lives to Jesus.  Although not perfect, these are maturing daily to become more and more like their Savior.  The promise is that God will see this transformation through to its completion, not because of an individual’s will power but because God is at work in him and God finishes what He starts.

After searching for property for more than two years, in August of 2007 God initiated something amazing.  In faith we signed a contract for a parcel of ground in a community where we had seen God touching people’s lives through the church. After much prayer and fasting we used our entire property fund of $20K as a down payment for the $57.5K property.  We were given one year interest free to pay off the balance.  A week before the due date of the final payment, God had provided the entire sum.

We dreamed of what could be constructed to minister on this property.  The resulting vision?  A three story building that when finished will have an auditorium for 220 or more people, 6 large classrooms, a dividable multipurpose room, administrative area, kitchen, library, computer lab, 2 stories of storage space, 7,000 gallon cistern, restrooms with showers, apartment, soccer field & multi-sport field (3rd story), playground, and a youth room.

The construction of this nearly half a million dollar ministry center, humanly speaking, would appear beyond our reach, as did purchasing the property.  We are confident however that this will be a reality; a place where people will both hear the life changing message of salvation in Christ, and also be equipped to live and share that message with others. In fact the work has already begun with much progress.  For its completion, the partnership of many who share the same vision will be necessary.

The first level is now under construction.  Funds on hand will allow for the completion of the auditorium.  An incredible opportunity for our present need has been presented for the year of 2010 that would make it possible to complete the entire first level.  Would you prayerfully consider joining us in this exciting endeavor for the kingdom of God here in Honduras and beyond?

Matching Funds

Living Hope Ministries has received a generous proposal for the year of 2010.  A north-American Christian family has committed to matching funds donated for the construction of the ministry center up to the amount of $50,000.

If you encounter people who would like to contribute, they can do so by sending monies designated to the Building Project to the address listed above.  All contributions are tax deductible.

2nd Annual Women's Conference

It has been over a year in the works. Our 2nd Annual Women’s Conference was held Saturday, January 23, 2010.

We have had some obstacles to overcome: political situation, curfews, a change in the public school graduation date to the original day of the conference, calendar conflicts, our original choice for a speaker not able to come, sicknesses and deaths, etc. You get the picture. But here is the wonderful part, we could have peace in planning and changing because Christ told us, “in this world you will have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” He has promised to make “all things work out for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.” We had our final meeting with 30 ladies from different churches this past Sunday to make sure everything is in place. We are expecting over 150 women. Our theme is “A Transformed Life.” The transformation of the butterfly is our decoration theme: The Worm-our life before Christ; The Cocoon-our life coming to Christ; The Butterfly-our life in Christ. Wow! What a transformation from a worm to a butterfly. We hope to encourage the ladies to know God has a plan for each of their lives; to see themselves as God sees them; and to know that to God they have worth. Our last session is to give them confidence to believe and act on the fact that God has given them everything they need to be transformed and to serve Him. Please pray for God’s continued blessing and hand upon this even and that lives will be transformed for the Lord.
