Core Values

Respect: Every person is created in the image of God, and therefore worthy of respect as a bearer of that image. We are to treat one another in the same way we would treat Jesus. What we say to one another and about one another is to be said in love and respect. (Genesis 1:26,27)

Excellence: Everything we do is to be done with excellence. We are to be willing to go the extra mile in the expenditure of time, energy, and resources to insure excellence. We will not "wing" it. We will offer nothing to the Lord that costs us nothing. (Luke 14:28-33; II Samuel 24:18-25; Colossians 3:17)

Safety: Our concern is to be for the well-being of those whom we work. We will not knowingly put anyone in harms way and will strive to deliver those within harms way when it is within our power to do so. The physical, spiritual, mental and emotional health of others is a priority.

Relationships: Relationships are a gift from God. We are to encourage building positive relationships, with God and with one another. As much as depends upon us we will be at peace with all people, practicing forgiveness and striving for unity. We are to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. When aware of strain in a relationship we re to confront it head on to make resolution, thus honoring God and providing an example for others. (Romans 12:18; Ephesians 4:1-3, 32; Matthew 5:23,24,43-48; 18:15-17)

Family: We are to encourage the strengthening of families. Part of God's redemptive work is the restoration of families, and we are to promote the loving bond between parents and children as well as among siblings. For those who have no family, we will become their family. (Luke 1:17; Ephesians 6:1-4)

Ministry: Everyone has God-given gifts and abilities. It is our responsibility to help each other discover these gifts. We are to then equip and encourage each other to use their gifts for God's glory and the benefit of others. There are no unimportant members in the body of Christ. We need one another in order to accomplish God's ministry. (Ephesians 4:11-13; I Corinthians 12:4-6, 12-30)

Servanthood: Jesus set the example, He Himself being a servant rather than looking for others to serve Him. When we see a need we are to do what we can to help. If we have a need we are to humbly admit it and ask for help. We are all equal in the eyes of God. (Matthew 20:25-28; Galatians 3:26-29)

Prayer: Prayer is vitally important in our relationship with God, both for maintaining intimacy and obtaining guidance. Plans are to be considered and entered into prayerfully. Activity will not become a replacement to prayer but rather a response to what God reveals as a result of prayer. (Ephesians 4:6; I Thessalonians 5:17)

Stewardship: We are to be good stewards with the resources that God provides, striving to utilize them to their fullest potential. We realize that we are accountable to God now for what we do with what He has given us. Money is not an end in itself, but rather one of the resources that God provides to do ministry. (Matthew 25:14-30; II Corinthians 9:6-11; James 1:17)

Integrity: A good reputation takes a lifetime to build and only a second to destroy. We are to be people who can be trusted. We are to always speak the truth in love. If we make a promise, we are to keep it; when we make a mistake, we are to admit it. (Matthew 5:33-37; Ephesians 4:15)

Love: God is love. If we are truly His children we will love as well, not just in word but more importantly in our deeds. We realize that God looks not only at our accomplishments but also our motives. Love is to be the foundation of all we do. We are to practice the two greatest commandments; to love God and to love our neighbor. (I John 4:4-12; I Corinthians 13; Matthew 22:36-40; I John 3:18; John 13:55)

Evangelism: The task of sharing the gospel of Jesus is not the calling of a select few but the responsibility and priviledge of every Christian. It is the plan of God that the entire church take the entire Gospel to the entire world. (I Peter 3:15; Matthew 28:19-20)

The Bible: God's word is our final rule of authority when it comes to how to conduct our lives. We will surrender to its ultimate authority. We are not to shrink from proclaiming the truth of God's Word, always doig so with love. (II Timothy 3:16, 17; Hebrews 4:12,13)
